Knees can be a problem for the young and old alike. For young and working-age people, the most common cause of knee pain is excessive strain from sports or work. Knee pain may be accompanied by inflammation, such as bursitis. Pain may also come from the tendons of the knee. Older people, even people just over the age of 50, often have worn joint cartilage, which will cause pain in the knee. The above symptoms often present together with some degree of swelling in the knees or lower extremities, which will cause further pain or restrict mobility.
6D Tape can be used to stimulate lymph flow, blood circulation, fasciae, scar tissue, muscles and joints by manipulating the tissue. Activating the tissue by lifting, pressing and twisting the handles will promote its metabolism and circulation.
Treatment instructions for the knee self-care kit
Active self-care is key for rehabilitation. The self-care kit includes complete instructions and pre-cut tapes. Also see the general instructions on how to apply the tape.
1. Clean
The skin must be clean, dry and hairless. First remove any hair from the area where you will apply the tape. Always clean the skin with a cleaning solution before applying the tape. For maximum adhesion, make sure that the skin is not moist or sweaty.
2. Remove the backing paper
Remove the backing from a tape strip that is the length of two handles as shown. Take care not to touch the adhesive side of the tape. Do not stretch 6D Tape. If the treatment site requires stretching, the recommended stretch is 0–15 percent. If you do stretch the tape, be careful not to stretch the ends of the tape (the “anchors”).
3. Place
Always place the two-handle tape in the left supraclavicular fossa as shown, regardless of which knee you will be treating. Place the strip of tape so that the collarbone (clavicle) sits between the handles or with both handles above the collarbone. Keep your head in the normal position with your face straight forward. Do not turn your head or stretch your muscles. Rub the tape vigorously from the center of the tape towards the ends to ensure that it attaches to the skin. Place another two-handle tape in the groin lymph node area on the side with the sore knee as shown.
4. Tape
Apply tape to the sore knee. Place a three-handle strip of tape on the inside and outside of the knee. Keep the leg in its natural position, slightly bent at the knee. Place the middle handle on top of the painful area on both sides of the knee joint as shown. Avoid stretching the tape or touching the adhesive. Do not start the treatment right away – the adhesive takes 15 minutes to reach maximum adhesion after application.
5. Activate
First, activate the supraclavicular fossa by gently pressing, lifting and twisting the handles about 15–20 times for one minute. Repeat the manipulation in the groin area.
6. Treat
Continue the treatment by pressing, lifting and twisting the handles in the knee area. Start the treatment from the upper handles, move on to the middle handles and finish with the lower handles. Continue the treatment in the opposite direction, proceeding from bottom to top, then top to bottom and so on for a total of 5–10 minutes. Finish the treatment by pressing, lifting and twisting the handles 15–20 times in the groin area and then 15–20 times in the supraclavicular fossa. For best results, repeat the treatment every 3–4 hours – more treatment sessions make for better outcomes. We recommend wearing 6D Tape for 3–10 days.
7. Remove the tape
To remove the tape after use, first rub it vigorously with your hand. Then roll the tape along the skin to remove it. Never tear off the tape, as this may cause pain and damage the skin.

The video starts with vacuum treatment using a 6D Action therapy device.
Strips of 6D Tape are placed on the venous angle in the left supraclavicular fossa, the groin on the side with the sore knee, and finally on the inside and outside of the knee.
